ST. LOUIS (July 17, 2014) – “Of Being Numerous: The 2013 Critical Mass for the Visual Arts Creative Stimulus Award Exhibition,” featuring artwork by the recipients of the 2013 Creative Stimulus award: Ilene Berman, Christine Ilewski and Carlie Trosclair. Hosted at the Gallery at the Regional Arts Commission, the Creative Stimulus Award is an annual prize that allots $1500 to three St. Louis-based, jury-selected artists, to assist them in creating new work and expanding their practices. This exhibition features a variety of media – including painting, textiles, and installation – that serves as a means for representing fundamentally community-driven work, which is deeply engaged with the St. Louis area beyond conventional gallery confines.
