Alternative Book Group: Unicorn Variations by Roger Zelazny

Join us for a dive into the Unicorn Variations, a collection of sci-fi short stories by Roger Zelazny. The title story, “Unicorn Variation,” tells the tale of a chess match that takes place between a man and a unicorn in a saloon which becomes much more than just a game, with the state of the human race on the line.

Roger Zelazny (1937-1995) was an American writer and poet best known for his science fiction short stories and novels. Often referred to as a part of the New Wave literary movement, his writing frequently incorporated characters portrayed from mythology, and is cited by Neil Gaiman as having the largest influence on his work.

Free admission for members. $5 general admission.

Complimentary drinks and appetizers.
