Left Bank Books presents Cave Canem fellow Aisha Sharif, award winner Wendy J. Fox, and local author and award winner Angela Mitchell.
Aisha Sharif is a Cave Canem fellow who resides in Shawnee, Kansas, a suburb that borders Kansas City, Missouri. And in many ways, much of her poetry and nonfiction addresses the politics of “bordering identities.”
Wendy J. Fox is the author of The Seven Stages of Anger and Other Stories (winner, Press 53 short fiction contest & finalist for the Colorado Book Award), The Pull of It (named a top 2016 book by Displaced Nation) and the forthcoming novel If The Ice Had Held (May, 2019), selected as the Santa Fe Writers Project grand prize winner by Benjamin Percy.
Angela Mitchell’s stories have appeared in Colorado Review, New South, Carve, Midwestern Gothic, storySouth and other journals. Her story, “Animal Lovers,” was awarded Colorado Review’s Nelligan Prize for Short Fiction and given special mention in The Pushcart Prize XXXV.
