Auditions for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs

The St. Louis Children’s Choirs is now welcoming singers ages 6-18, including boys with changed voices!

Auditioning for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs is easy. An ensemble director spends some one-on-one time with your child to listen to him or her sing. Each young singer is asked to match pitches, clap some rhythms, and sing a song they know, such as “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” or “Happy Birthday” for elementary singers, or “America the Beautiful” for sixth grade and above. Singers auditioning for advanced choirs will be asked to sight-sing a simple melody.

At the end of the audition, children who are ready for a choral experience are placed in an ensemble level that matches their musical ability. Auditioning singers do not need to have any private vocal training or a prepared solo for the audition.
