Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto

In the world of Beethoven, you never know what waits around each corner: terror or tenderness, joy or sorrow.

On Sept. 29 and 30, American pianist Jonathan Biss will play the grand First Piano Concerto, opening a season-long Beethoven concerto cycle. Beethoven has been a model for Biss, who believes Beethoven “asks the biggest questions,” and in his popular online classes, Biss explores why it nourishes his soul.

In this concert, which will take place at the Touhill Performing Arts Center, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra musical director Stéphane Denève will also surprise audiences with the Coriolan Overture. Get your tickets today!
