Bold: Uncommon Spirit

Chamber Project St. Louis presents a program of big, bold, beautiful music for winds, strings and piano that celebrates the human spirit.

American icon Joan Tower honors the strength of women, dedicating Fanfare for an Uncommon Woman #6 to Cuban-American composer Tania León. León in turn celebrates her vibrant Latin American cultural heritage in Tumbao.

The concert continues with Strauss’ fabled merry prankster of lore, Till Eulenspiegel, who gets a playful reimagining for mixed quintet, after which the confidence and vigor of youth are captured in Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Nonet Op. 2.
