Experience the heartbeat of Brazil with Maocyr Marchini. With traditional Brazilian percussion instruments as well as tambourines, rain sticks and cowbells, Maocyr will introduce the sounds of his native country to visitors and lead them in a lively Carnival parade.
Moacyr Marchini learned traditional samba music when he was growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After moving to St. Louis in 1993, he formed the Brazilian music group Samba Bom. He conducts workshops and residencies through Springboard and performs Brazilian percussion around the world.
Event is free with Museum admission. Performances are at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. both days.
