Dreams Made Real: Book Signing & Poetry Slam

Dream Builders 4 Equity & YourWords STL present the 3rd annual Dreams Made Real: Book Signing & Poetry Slam

Dream Builders 4 Equity hosted their Summer Academy 2019, where youth participants rehabbed a home, participated in life and job skills courses, and wrote about their experiences. YourWords STL hosted 3 days of creative writing workshops, during which the young people transformed books into original works of art, wrote and discussed poetry and worked with tutors to create ready-to-publish pieces. For their last day together, the young people presented their hard work during an “in-house” poetry slam and art exhibit. The youth published an inspiring book titled “Dreams Made Real” detailing their journey.

Dream Builders 4 Equity & YourWords STL with the help of Young Griot Society will host a poetry slam and Q&A featuring young artists from DB4E Summer Academy 2019.
The profits earned from the book sales will fund the author’s college tuition & other educational expenses.
