Dreams of Lost Memories

To launch its 40th anniversary season on Saturday, Oct. 14, the St. Louis Cultural Flamenco Society pays tribute to those who have suffered from Alzheimer’s with a tale of courage and grace told through Spanish music and dance.

“Dreams of Lost Memories” unveils the journey of a dancer whose life was an ode to the marvels of flamenco—a life that Alzheimer’s began to gently thread through. The Society’s own company dancers Emma Frey and Destiny Hooper and six guest artists from Spain bring this heartfelt homage to the stage at Bayless High School’s splendid theater for two performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter and the Charles F. and Joanne Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center of the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis collaborated with the Society to ensure accuracy in the portrayal of the dancer’s journey.

General admission tickets are available for $40 each through Eventbrite or at the door. Seniors age 65 and older as well as students under age 18 can purchase general admission tickets at the door for $25 (with a valid ID).
