The Driving of the Spike tour features the Golden Spike Monument, a 43′-tall golden spike, as it travels from the artist’s studio in Kentucky to its installation site in Brigham City, Utah. The Monument hosts reliefs that depict scenes of those who worked to build the transcontinental railroad, people impacted by the railroad, and many others whose vision and support were instrumental in bringing this historic feat of human engineering to fruition. Join us at St. Louis Union Station on Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for this unique opportunity to experience the Monument while on tour and learn about Utah’s role in the history of the railroad.
