Exploring Religious Beliefs of the Afterlife

Inspired by Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds, this panel will explore conceptions of the afterlife in diverse faith traditions, including ancient Egypt, Judaism, the Baha’i Faith, Hinduism, and Islam.

Co-presented with Arts & Faith St. Louis with support from Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis

Panelists include:

David Oughton, panel moderator and associate professor of theological studies at Saint Louis University and Vice President of the Board of Interfaith Partnership

Maharat Rori Picker Neiss, Executive Director, Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis

Dr. Billie Mayo, Racial Justice leader and longtime member of the Baha’i Faith

Jack Sisk, Member, Hindu Temple of St. Louis and President, Living Insights Center

Mufti Asif Umar, Imam/Director of Religious Affairs, Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Daar-ul-Islam Mosque
