Sam Golden is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer who has called St. Louis home since 2016. Sam has played violin, viola, guitar, and piano with local luminaries including Jack Grelle, Brothers Lazaroff, T.J. Muller, and Jenny Roques. Sam’s string arrangements have been featured on recordings by Nick Gusman, John Henry, Laren Loveless and many more. Sam has also made symphonic arrangements for Miss Jubilee, The Gaslight Squares and Brothers Lazaroff in collaboration with the St. Louis Civic Orchestra. During quarantine, Sam launched his home recording studio, Holiday Heart Studio, releasing an album of pandemic-inspired songs and continuing his collaborations with a diverse array of St Louis artists from home. At Holiday Heart Studio he also recorded, produced and played on Tim Dulin’s record “Post-Op”.
Sam’s own project, Fiddlin’ Sam and the Bolo Band, is a St Louis Western Swing supergroup that plays his arrangements and transcriptions of the legendary tunes of Bob Wills, Milton Brown and more. The band features faces familiar to any St Louis music fan, including Alena Wheeler, Jack Catalanotto, Ryan Koenig, Richard Tralles, and Fred Gumaer. Golden Bolo Company, the sponsor of the Bolo Band, will be at the event with one-of-a-kind custom bolo ties for sale!
