June 21
|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 12:00am, repeating until June 29, 2018

Deadline Extended to Friday, June 29 at 11:59pm

For every negative there is a positive, for every action, there is a reaction, and for every balance, there is a counterbalance. We have been taught to “see” negative space to better define positive shape or form. How does negative and positive space work in tandem to describe the content and attitude of a work of art? For this exhibition, the St. Louis Artists Guild seeks submissions that explore these concepts either artistically, emotionally, socially or all of the above. Calls for entry are open to all media including but not limited to painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, performance, mixed-media, and installation.

Juror: Tom Huck

Tom Huck was born on December 9, 1971 in Farmington, Missouri and grew up in nearby Potosi. He received a BFA in drawing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1993. He currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri where he runs his own press, Evil Prints.
