Foundry at MADE

FOUNDRY AT MADE EXHIBITION OPENS AT MADE MAKERSPACE
June 18 – August 12, 2021

The Foundry Art Centre is pleased to announce that ten Foundry studio artists will be exhibiting at MADE Makerspace this summer in the Foundry at MADE exhibition. As a continued collaborative partnership between the Foundry and MADE, Jim Carlson, Evan Church, Lydia Crespo, Ann Croghan, Sue Giannotti, Lisa Hinrichs, Laura Hohn, Roberta Rose, Natalie Schloss, and Jody Williams will be exhibiting paintings, drawings, ceramics, fiber art, mixed media, and mosaics on the first floor.

Earlier this year, MADE at the Foundry was presented at the Foundry Art Centre. This exhibition examined the unique interconnections between the principle creative disciplines represented at MADE – making, art, design, and entrepreneurship. Works by MADE members and studio artists illustrated the importance of interactivity, innovation, and community engagement within the creative economy, central tenets of both MADE and the Foundry Art Centre’s missions.

“This is exactly the kind of partnership that motivates us as the FAC Artists. Every day we (FAC Artists) are inspiring one another to be better artists. We are thrilled to expand that relationship to our esteemed peers with the same goal across the river. Our hope is this will be just one of many collaborative partnerships with MADE,” states Foundry Art Centre Lydia Crespo.

“This collaborative partnership just made sense,” explains Sean FitzGibbons, Foundry Art Centre’s Executive Director. “The Foundry’s focus is to champion our region’s art community and we see that same focus at MADE. We are thrilled to see our artists represented in Foundry at MADE as the continuation of this project, which showcases what happens when communities are formed around Making, Art, Design, and Entrepreneurship.”

A socially distanced opening reception for Foundry at MADE is scheduled for Friday, June 18th, from 6-9pm, at 5127 Delmar Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63108.
