Atrium announces an upcoming Spring exhibition “Judy Pfaff: NewPrints.” This extensive solo exhibition by the internationally known artist Judy Pfaff will include all new work inspired by her travels in India where she was enthralled by the vibrant life of the people and the rich and diverse cultures. The language, the spirituality and the beautiful contrasts and contradictions she experienced present themselves lucidly and luminously in her work. Imagery flows and energy abounds though these new prints. In these pieces, Pfaff’s handling of color and manipulation of images was particularly influenced by the brightly colored and intricately patterned kantha blankets she encountered there. Layered lines, patterns, and organic shapes echo throughout the images. Pfaff incorporates hand painted inks and dyes and sensitive layering of printed surfaces to bring complex elements together within these very accomplished compositions. Opening night 4/6 from 6-8PM, free parking in east lot.
