The climax of our 63rd season takes us to the newly reconfigured sanctuary at Congregation Shaare Emeth in Creve Coeur. We conclude with that most human of our “states of being” – HOPE. Romantic literature from Beethoven and Hugo Wolf are contrasted with more contemporary expressions of joy and triumph by Benjamin Britten and Darius Milhaud, while American composer William Schuman offers some humorous versions of advertisements originally placed in the Sears & Roebuck catalog!
A highlight will be the the world premiere of “Hope” written specially for the occasion by poet Charles Anthony Silvestri and our new Composer-In-Residence Mårten Jansson. Both will travel to St. Louis for the concert – Jansson from his native Sweden and Silvestri from Lawrence, Kansas. Salute both Tony and Mårten for their expressive new collaboration at a short reception following the concert. Ample parking is available in lots at the front and back of the temple.
