Mr. Bertrand survived the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda, and after a long journey in life, has founded the Irembo Foundation dedicated to supporting
vulnerable single mothers and their children through promotion of education and income generating activities. Volunteers also help children living
on the street. He will be speaking at the Lillian Yahn Gallery on July 14, 6-9 pm and will display some of his art that is part of the project.
He also will demonstrate his painting techniques. Refreshments provided, possibly with an African flavor.
This special appearance coincides with the reception of the Concrete Wave – Art of Skateboarding art exhibit at the Yahn Gallery.
