Joe Park Trio Meets Ian Buschmann

Since moving to St. Louis almost 10 years ago, Joe Park has been a member in several of St. Louis’s most popular bands including Miss Jubilee, Sidney Street Shakers, Tommy Halloran’s Guerrilla Swing, and Sarah Jane and the Blue Notes.

The Joe Park Trio is a swing/jazz trio led by guitarist Joe Park. He is joined by bassist Ben Coan and drummer Drew Weiss. This concert will also feature guest baritone saxophonist Ian Buschmann.

The Joe Park Trio came together working as the rhythm section for STL jazz singer Sarah Jane. They found a common mutual interest in the swinging guitarist led trios of the 1950’s like Barney Kessel and Kenny Burrell.

Along with other engagements, the Joe Park Trio has been the Wednesday night band at Yaquis on Cherokee in St. Louis since 2017. In 2018 the trio went to Nashville to record their first album “Out of Nowhere”. Their 2020 release “Let’s Get Cookin” was recorded live at the Dark Room in St. Louis.
