Katie Karel – How Lucky Can You Get

Kansas City’s Katie Karel is really good in all sorts of ways, and you should go see her, even if you don’t know who she is. Not only does she have a great voice and technique, she is gorgeous, drop-dead funny, and turns on a dime into the most reflective moments an actor can produce. She first came to Blue Strawberry’s attention in a standout performance of Indecent last year, one of the continually terrific and superbly cast productions that Stellie Siteman and De Kaplan mount as Max and Louie. (Next stop Songs For Nobodies with the magnificent Debby Lennon January 23-Feb 2.)
Katie Karel is an actor, singer, host, and performer whose talents have lead her east to west. An evening filled with song, laughter, a bit of dance, and a few tears (mainly at how bad the dancing is), featuring the music of Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, and more. Come join for laughs, stories, and a voice that has the critics raving.
Ron McGowan, Musical Director
