Laka – The Music in Me

Take a journey through decades of chart topping music as Laka shares a wide variety of her musical influences. Songs will range from “nice and easy”, inspired by artists such as Billie Holiday to “nice and rough”, like the powerhouse that is Tina Turner. Experience the glamour of Old Hollywood intertwined with the soul the 60’s birthed! This will be a show to remember!

Laka, pronounce “Lay-ka”, is a soul singer based in St. Louis, Missouri. She grew up singing in church. Her musical influences include Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, James Brown, Etta James, Otis Redding, and Bill Withers. Drawn to soul, blues, and jazz genres, Laka also loves to get a crowd moving to pop tunes.
