L’Atalante

The C. G. Jung Society of Saint Louis will show the film, L’Atalante, at First Congregational Church, 6501 Wydown Blvd., Clayton, Friday, Aug. 23, 7-9 pm. L’Atalante (1934) often appears in lists of The Ten Best Films of all Time. It’s about the entanglement of Juliette and Jean, a newly married couple, and about all of us, our masculine/feminine souls, and our need for love, union, wholeness, fulfillment. The film (French, English subtitles) is a delight in itself, irrespective of any deeper meaning.
