Leverage Dance Theater is celebrating its 10th season as a local modern dance company. The company opens its anniversary season with “River of Time”, an evening length concert May 12-14 at Intersect Arts Center. The show reflects on the company’s 10 years, where they have been, what they have learned, and where they hope to go.
Featuring works by Leverage’s current Assistant Director Keli Hermes and founding Assistant Director Hannah Fischer, alongside that of company members Marissa Beccard and long-time guest artists R. Vance Baldwin and Lindsay Hawkins. “River of Time” takes note of our past, present and future, the ones who have come before us, and those who will carry on the legacy. Each choreographer was asked to reflect on their history with Leverage and their last ten years, personally and professionally, as a prompt for their art-making for this concert.
To support Leverage’s mission and provide the most accessibility for those that might have been affected financially by the pandemic, a number of tickets will be offered at no-cost or low-cost. Patrons may also purchase a ticket for someone who is not financially able. Those tickets will be given to interested audiences from the local Cherokee Street Community. Due to space restrictions, audience sizes will be limited. Please contact our staff at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information regarding accessibility limitations.
