LOOPRAT with Mathias and The Pirates

Consisting of four MCs and six instrumentalists, jazz/hip hop collective LOOPRAT formed in late 2013, and quickly
became one of St. Louis’ most sought after groups, performing with the like of Tef Poe, MME, Slum Village and Talib
Kweli, and at Austin’s SXSW in 2015 and 2016. Led by Mathias James, known for his work with Earthworms, Mathias and
the Pirates, all with deep roots in St. Louis’ hip hop scene, perform self-described “soulful Midwest hip-hop with a rock
and roll heart.”
