Marie Lorenz | Public Lecture Series at WashU’s Sam Fox School

Join the Sam Fox School at Washington University in St. Louis on Sept. 28 for a free public lecture from New York-based artist Marie Lorenz. Her work is rooted in the exploration and narrative of New York City’s waterfronts. Combining psycho-geographic exploration with highly crafted, material forms, Lorenz uses boats to create an uncertain space and bring about a heightened awareness of place. In 2005, she started her “Tide and Current Taxi” project, taking people around the New York Harbor in a boat built from salvaged materials, using the tide to guide her navigation.

Lecture will be in Steinberg Hall. Free parking available in the East End Garage beginning at 5:00 p.m. Enter the garage from Forsyth Boulevard or Forest Park Parkway.

This lecture is the Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Visiting Artist Lecture, part of the Public Lecture Series hosted by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
