Meet private art dealer Sarah B. Cunningham as she shares her curated show of paintings and prints showcasing Mid-20th-Century St. Louis artists on display in her Central West End space located in the historic Pierce Arrow Building.
Belle Cramer and Her Circle: The St. Louis Scene 1947-1983 features the work of the indomitable Belle Cramer as well as several members of her mid-century St. Louis artist community, including Fred Conway, Emily Ann Cramer, Werner Drewes, Charles Quest, John Wehmer among others.
Specializing in American and European paintings 1850-present, Sarah started her career in Boston, moving with her family to St. Louis in 2015. She has 24 years in the art business with broad experience and expertise in art sales and acquisition, fine art appraisal, art consulting, curating, and art collection management. She has a strong appreciation for how we live with art and can share ideas for introducing art into your home and building a personal collection. Sarah works with private collectors as well as museums and has placed work in private collections worldwide and in institutions including Saint Louis Art Museum, The Met, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Today, the Pierce Arrow Building which originally housed the Pierce Arrow motorcar manufacturer and showroom, features artist studios and office spaces. During our visit to Sarah’s gallery, selected artists are opening their spaces for a close-up look at their work and the chance to learn about their creative process.
We hope you will join us for this absorbing afternoon.

WHAT IS THE ART COLLABORATIVE? An interactive, dynamic forum aimed at bringing art to people and people to the art, facilitated by Cynthia Correll and Judith Shaw. The idea is to draw together a diverse, creative community of artists and art enthusiasts interested in sharing ideas, inspiration, resources, and information about what drives their creative passion, process, and purpose. The group meets monthly in different art venues for hands-on, immersive experiences. Our goal is to cross pollinate among innovative institutions, organizations, and neighborhoods to showcase the art landscape in our region.
