Music for a Summer Afternoon: Orchestrating Diversity Summer Concert

Summertime and the living is …. hot! What better way to spend an afternoon than at Orchestrating Diversity’s summer concert in the beautiful, (and cool!) Pilgrim Congregational Church. The concert starts with Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances 1 & 3 Op. 46. Gabrielle Williams, 15 is featured in Albinoni’s Oboe Concerto in B-flat, and cellist Brandon Bennett, 14, joins Orchestrating Diversity teaching artists in Schumann’s Quintet for Piano and Strings. The concert concludes with Schubert’s ebullient “Little” Symphony No. 6.
The young students of the Junior Urban Music Program will also show what they have learned in our summer music camp.
Orchestrating Diversity is a stand-alone social change through music education program of the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center, a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit, providing free education in orchestral music to St. Louis youth since 2008.
Please join us for this relaxing afternoon of beautiful music.
