SATE presents the stage version of John Steinbeck’s novel, Of Mice and Men

George, an affable migrant farm worker, and Lennie, a towering simple-minded pleasantly humble young man, have just arrived at a ranch to work for enough money to buy their own place. They are bound by George’s devotion and Lennie’s “pathetic helplessness”. George’s guardianship keeps Lennie out of trouble, but we soon see this is a slippery slope. Lennie’s displays of love result in several deaths ranging from mice and puppies to a beautiful woman. Eventually, in the face of a lynch mob, George is faced with a moral question: how should he deal with Lennie before the ranchers find him and take matters into their own hands, Of Mice and Men is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.

Directed by Jacqueline Thompson
Starring Carl Overly, Jr. and Adam Flores
