One Author, One Kirkwood with Morgan Talty

One Author, One Kirkwood is a yearly community reading event for people throughout the St. Louis area. A One Author, One Kirkwood committee chooses an author and hosts fun and thoughtful discussions around their work that address important social topics affecting our community and the larger world. Talty’s debut story collection, Night of the Living Rez, portrays the modern lives of a Native community in Maine, highlighting themes of survival, perseverance, and inheritance.

Night of the Living Rez from Tin House Books, won the New England Book Award, won the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Short Story Collection, was a Finalist for the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers, and was a Finalist for the 2023 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction.

Books can be checked out at Kirkwood Public Library or ordered from Novel Neighbor. This is a free ticketed event and more information can be found on the library’s website.
