POETRY AT THE POINT on April 24 will feature feature John Findura, Matthew Freeman, and Anna Guzon. Poetry at the Point is held at THE FOCAL POINT in Maplewood on the 4th Tuesday of the month. This reading series invites local and regional poets, and established and up-and-coming poets to share their words. The event is free.
JOHN FINDURA is the author of the poetry collection Submerged (Five Oaks Press, 2017). He holds an MFA from The New School as well as a degree in psychotherapy.
MATTHEW FREEMAN’s latest collection is called Trying to Take a Nap, and was written over the course of a week when the poet just couldn’t fall asleep.
ANNA OJASCASTRO GUZON is a writer, teacher, mother, and former physician. In 2015, she co-founded YourWords STL, a non-profit that uses creative writing workshops, tutoring, and collaborative, interscholastic projects to help St. Louis youth amplify their voices. She is the author of two chapbooks, Eating the Net and A Butterfly’s Invitation.
