Quinn Antonio Briceño: Como Tú

September 10 – October 17, 2020

Quinn Antonio Briceño’s work is informed by his experience growing up in Nicaragua and in Saint Louis, Missouri. Like many children who are products of a bi-cultural and bi-racial marriage, Briceño has struggled with his identity and where he belongs in society. His art explores the tensions and prejudices between ethnicity and social class, elitism and racism, both in the United States and Latin America. In addition to acrylic painting, Briceño also works with traditional Nicaraguan tile patterns and bean stains in order to reconnect with his Nicaraguan heritage while addressing the contradictions of racism in the United States and elitism in Nicaragua.

Due to Covid-19, this exhibition will not have a traditional opening reception. Contact us to schedule a private viewing. Images of the exhibition can be viewed on our website and a virtual tour will be available after the show opens.
