River Styx Reading Series

River Styx is proud to host our annual River Styx Reading Series.

Readings are held on the third Monday of each month. Entry is $5 for general admission and $4 for students and seniors.

Our January readers are Derek Palacio, Deborah Taffa, and Tiana Clark.

Derek Palacio’s short story, “Sugarcane,” was
published in “The O. Henry Prize Stories 2013.” He also has
a novella, “How to Shake the Other Man,” and a novel, “The
Mortifications,” which was a NYT Best Book of 2016 and
NYT Book Review Editor’s Choice.

Deborah Taffa won the Ellen Meloy Desert Writer’s
Award for her essay collection, “Kiva Song.” She also co-work, “The Trail of Tears,” which appeared on PBS nationwide in November, 2018.

Tiana Clark’s “Equilibrium” won the 2016 Frost Place
Chapbook Competition and her first full-length
collection, “I Can’t Talk About the Trees Without the Blood,”
won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize.

We hope to see you there!
