This concert will feature some of the most hauntingly beautiful folk tunes from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Focusing on the work and the lives of the women from these islands, the concert will weave the slower, more poignant lullabies with the lively pieces sung during work and dance. The concert will feature many familiar and nostalgic tunes that will leave the audience smiling and tapping their toes! “Scottish Lullaby”, arranged by M. Neaum, “Down By the Salley Gardens” arranged by M. Cleveland, and the lively “Four Irish Ballads” arranged by Mark Templeton which also features traditional Celtic instruments, folk harp and flute – with guest artists Eileen Gannon, Celtic harp and Ann Dolan, flute. The concert will close with a set of British traditional carol arrangements to welcome in the holiday season.
