Staged Reading of Dominique Morisseau’s PIPELINE

This performance is a staged reading: the actors will perform the play without a set or costumes. This form of theatre allows us to dig deep into the text and characters of the script. This reading will be directed by Gaby Rodriguez. From Samuel French: “Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, is committed to her students but desperate to give her only son Omari opportunities they’ll never have. When a controversial incident at his upstate private school threatens to get him expelled, Nya must confront his rage and her own choices as a parent. But will she be able to reach him before a world beyond her control pulls him away?”

Admission to all of our performances is free, but donations will be accepted. We will also partner with community organizations so we not only raise awareness during the show and talk-back, but also share possible action steps we can all take to improve the community in which we live.
