This fall Central Print and Firecracker Press are partnering with The Ladies of Letterpress in presenting STL Print Week. This year’s conference, October 4th – 7th, will host innovative workshops, bring participants from across the country, and invite community partners to celebrate the art and industry of printing. The event is host to panel discussions, guest speakers, a print market, and tours of unique print-related places in the St. Louis area. Don’t miss your chance to meet our keynote speaker Susan E. King who made her first artist’s book in 1975 at the Women’s Graphic Center at the Woman’s Building, where she eventually became the studio director. From 1973 to 1991, this Los Angeles-based organization and facility stood as a counterpoint to most major American museums, galleries, and arts programs, which routinely excluded female artists from their circles. She founded Paradise Press and makes letterpress and offset artist’s books.
