This is a 6-week class for all levels of pastel painters. If you are new to the pastel medium you will benefit from Lorraine’s own experience as an artist and her “Unique Technique” guidelines. If you are a more experienced pastel artist you will be pleasantly surprised by a fresh look at some of the basic concepts, as well as tips and tricks that will help you develop your style, move your work to award-winning level, and increase sales.

Lorraine has distilled her 24 years of workshop, studio, and plein air experience and knowledge down to a basic method which is specific to pastels and designed to facilitate learning and style development.

You will paint from your own photos (see supply list for details on how to choose photos). Landscape will be emphasized, but other subject matter may be used with Lorraine’s approval in the first class. This is not a class to learn to paint portraits of people, pets or animals – that is another class.
