“#ThisIsMyFerguson” is an art exhibition about Ferguson by Fergusonians. Professional artists are welcome to participate. We would also like citizen artists to join in creating something that speaks to your current experience of Ferguson.
As residents of Ferguson, of North County, and of the Greater St. Louis region, we are all connected to this place. It is in our bests interests to care for the land and to strengthen our communities by coming together as friends, neighbors, and citizens. When people gather to create community art, they tap into a place’s unique character and stimulate innovation, cultural diversity, and civic engagement.
Join your fellow neighbors at Good Shepherd Gallery on May 18th to create friendship bracelets from plastic shopping bags. Local mixed-media artist, Kate Moore-Freeman, will demonstrate how to create durable thread from this commonly overlooked material and how to transform this thread into wearable art.
