Three Women: Vision and Voice Opening Reception

“Three Women: Vision and Voice,” is part of “Innovations in Fiber 2019.” Laura Saunders Kaiser, Deb Lewis and Pat Owoc began in 1996 as Art Quilt Alliance; in 2005 they took the name ArtFiber Saint Louis to reflect the widening interests of members.
Laura Saunders Kaiser is a mother of three young children. She draws inspiration from seeing a child’s approach to creativity: playful, experimental, and reflective of joy.
Deb Lewis working with fiber allows her the free expression her formal career in computer programming lacks. Her fiber work is inspired by nature and often incorporates humor or whimsy.
Much of Pat Owoc’s work is based on story: early works dealt with family, ancestors, and animals; later works spoke to the environment, politics, nature, health concerns and aging.
