The UCSO’s 58th season, “The Year of the Piano,” will prominently feature piano works and pianists from all over the world. “One of the richest bodies of the repertoire, for solo instruments and orchestra, is for piano and orchestra,” says Maestro Leon Burke III. While other soloists will also be showcased, prominent pianists will headline four of this season’s five concerts.
The highlight of the day will be the Grand Concerto in D Major by Enrique Soro (Chile), performed by Dr. Vincent Craig, Assoc. Professor of Piano at West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
The performance will take place on the centennial of the work’s premiere.
The concert is FREE and open to the public. Pre-concert talk at 2:15pm, Concert at 3:00pm.
