The International Institute of St. Louis will host a free, public celebration for World Refugee Day at City Foundry STL on June 17.
World Refugee Day is an international day designated to honor refugees around the globe, celebrating the strength and courage of people forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution.
With this event, the International Institute of St. Louis celebrates St. Louis’ diverse culture and spreads awareness of the services available to refugees and immigrants such as educational opportunities, workforce solutions and social services. Since 2000, the International Institute has welcomed almost 12,000 people as they look to resettle in St. Louis, and through programs and services, supported thousands more.
The World Refugee Day celebration will feature a multicultural market and live entertainment from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
