Curator: Northeast-Midwest Institute
This beautiful exhibit includes 47 photos from 14 cities along the Mississippi River as well as a stunning floor map of the river. First on display at Capitol Hill in March 2013, the Mississippi River Photo Exhibit served as a backdrop for a meeting of mayors from the Mississippi River states, who came together to laud the formation of a bicameral MS River Caucus and unveil their platform to help the waterway for 2013. The original exhibit was organized by the Northeast-Midwest Institute’s Mississippi River Cities & Towns Initiative, in partnership with member-city arts organizations and showcases the beauty and challenges of the River through 47 photographs. Throughout the Summer and Fall of 2013, eight cities along the River will host the exhibit: Dubuque, IA; Ft. Madison, IA; St. Louis, MO; Alton, IL; Osceola, AR; Memphis, TN; Vicksburg, MS; and New Orleans, LA.
