ST. LOUIS (February 28, 2014) – County Executive Charlie A. Dooley has appointed Helene Epstein to the Regional Arts Commission (RAC), the area’s largest annual funder of the arts in the St. Louis region.
Epstein brings a unique combination of experience and skill to her role as a commissioner for the Regional Arts Commission. Over the past three decades, she has worked in five disciplines, most of them concurrently: consumer advertising, business development, theater management, non-fiction writing and on ad hoc committees for a New York public school system. A graduate of New York University, Helene originally worked in advertising and new business development with ad agencies of all sizes. In late 1987, she co-founded a classical rep theater company in Manhattan, serving first as their artistic director and later as a board member. For over 20 years, her articles and columns have appeared in consumer magazines, and business and literary publications, under the bylines H.M. Epstein and Helene Kalmanson.
