A seasoned communications strategist and civic volunteer, Sherry Sissac serves as deputy director for the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis where she is responsible for organizational planning and development. She has worked for industry-leading companies such as advertising giant Leo Burnett USA and Weber Shandwick, a global public relations firm. Sherry has also held positions as an anchor and public affairs talk show host for ABC network affiliate KDNL in St. Louis and guest correspondent roles with various digital media outlets. In her current role, Sherry provides thought leadership in arts administration and brand management supporting efforts that contribute to the economic and cultural vibrancy of the region. Sherry previously operated a Chicago based communications management consultancy, serving entrepreneurs, non-profits, and corporate clients. Her community involvement spans over 25 years, with a critical focus on the well-being of children and fostering economic development for under-resourced communities.
Her leadership and collaborative talents have been acknowledged by several entities, including the Missouri Broadcasters Association, Missouri National Education Association, Arts & Education Council, and National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Her professional associations and training include the Association of Black Foundation Executives (ABFE), Americans for the Arts (AFTA), National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Poynter Institute for Media Studies, Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development, and the Knight Foundation.
