Lipski’s sculptures are acts of reclaimation for objects contemporary culture usually overlooks or discards. He creates sculptures out of industrial salvage material, and speaks of his work as a task of fitting, joining and “reassembling the world.”

Donald Lipski
b. 1947
Donald Lipski was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1947. He received his BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1970 and his MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 1973. In 2000, Lipski won the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome.
