About
Living Flame and Flowing Water appear as simple and bold abstractions. The arching contours of steel convey a natural, almost fleeting movement. The arcs are precariously positioned on top of each other in an open, loosely flowing composition, aligning them less with traditional monumental forms of sculpture than to a more painterly sensibility. These sculptures seemingly isolate and condense the movement and feeling of natural phenomena (i.e. fire and flowing water) and can uplift or pacify and create a contemplative space.
