Derek Laney is a father and organizer with a background in social services. Derek was a lead organizer with the national Fed Up Campaign to reform the Federal Reserve Banking system. He also was a prominent organizer and executive director of M.O.R.E., (Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment,) during the Ferguson Rebellion, organizing artists to create notable art actions like #ChalkedUnarmed, the Mirrored Coffin and the St. Louis Symphony Requiem for Mike Brown.
Derek has performed with Playback Theater Workshop and went on to found Improv for Personal Development where he used improvisational techniques to work with youth and with the elderly. Derek has also works as a life coach.
