Beverly Isom

Beverly Isom is the Director of Policy & Advocacy for Operation Food Search, a nonprofit that is working beyond immediate hunger relief to create lasting sustainable change in the food justice movement. As policy and advocacy director, Beverly works with lawmakers and stakeholders to advance both public and institutional policies to ensure that children and families have the food they need to eat today and the skills and opportunities they need for a lifetime.

Beverly has more than 25-years’ experience as a senior communications and public affairs professional in government that includes the City of Atlanta, CDC, FEMA, and the Commerce Department. She returned home to St. Louis after over 20 years in Atlanta and has served in communication roles at Fleishman Hillard, Bayer, and Nestle Purina. Beverly has served as the Board Chair of SisterLove and NEXT Atlanta which showcases visual, musical, and literary artists committed to social change.

She is from St. Louis, and a product of the St. Louis Public Schools system and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
