Jerry Gennaria


Jerry Gennaria is director of strategy at TOKY Branding + Design where he brings 25 years of experience in traditional and digital communications and a holistic approach to marketing and brand strategy. A dynamic presenter and storyteller, he enjoys making the complex simple and thrives on teaching and mentoring.

Born in Pennsylvania, Jerry grew up in Kentucky and moved to St. Louis in 1998. He is a veteran of the St. Louis advertising and design industry where he began his career as a traditional art director. Throughout his career, Gennaria has filled a variety of roles including interactive design, information architecture, user experience research, and marketing strategy. Today his focus is on brand strategy and consumer insights. Jerry’s experience spans a variety of industries including healthcare, agriculture, education, consumer package goods and finance working with clients such as Centene, MilliporeSigma, Mars Petcare, Washington University in St. Louis, Citigroup, and Bayer.

A graduate of Lindenwood University, Jerry is active in the St. Louis community as President of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce and has been a guest lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis, Saint Louis University, and Webster University. In addition to graphic design, Jerry’s artistic passion is photography. An accomplished travel and fine-art photographer, he has pursued his art in India, Japan, Europe, and the American West.

An unapologetic mid-century modern enthusiast and avid collector, he shares his life with his wife, two cats and an office filled with a curious collection of vintage technology, art, and Atomic Age ephemera.

Due to the ongoing financial impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Regional Arts Commission (RAC) has been working diligently to adjust our annual grantmaking programs to ensure alignment with RAC’s strategic priorities, and in response to feedback from the arts community.

Covid-19 has impacted us all. But what it hasn’t changed is RAC’s commitment to finding innovative ways to support arts programming, arts organizations, and individual artists through the pandemic, and to resuming these programs as soon as conditions allow.
