Since 2019, Mr. Arbuthnot has served Sen. Brian Williams and the 14th Senatorial District in North St. Louis County as chief of staff. In this role, he helps craft and monitor legislation that will positively impact the community, addresses constituents’ concerns, provides meaningful content to share with media and distribute as correspondence and prioritizes projects to be funded in the state operating budget. All told, Robert Arbuthnot has helped procure $145 million to fund workforce development, infrastructure and social service initiatives in the district. His tireless work ethic, professional demeanor and ability to anticipate and respond to needs are Robert’s hallmarks, compounded by a sincere desire to serve the community and help his fellow St. Louisans thrive.

Robert Arbuthnot is a creative, dependable leader who consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of him. He is organized, compatible and dedicated to his family and community. Robert’s “can do” attitude is inspiring, contagious and worthy of emulation. At the State Capitol, he helps facilitate the Annual Human Trafficking Awareness Day, prepares the senator for hearings and other legislative tasks and manages the office’s daily operations. When he is not in Jefferson City participating in the legislative and budgetary process, Robert guides the Youth Advisory Board and supports other charitable organizations around the St. Louis region.
