Eye Ball Boombox Mural

Peat Wollaeger

Wollaeger is one of St. Louis’s most prolific street artists. His works can be found on everything from brick walls to abandoned buildings, glass, and full-sized commissioned murals. He is entirely self-taught, but credits The College School with the positive and industrious spirit that drives his work. After his high school graduation, Wollaeger eventually settled in Chicago, where he worked as a graphic artist for a marketing firm for several years. In addition to his commercial work, Wollaeger has also developed an interest in tribute murals dedicated to individuals who have passed away in tragic circumstances. In 2008, he produced a large portrait of his idol, Keith Haring, who died of AIDS in 1990, and since 2010 has done a series of murals dedicated to Alex Townsend, a Savannah College of Art and Design student killed in a car accident at the age of 21.
