Wiktor Szostalo

b. 1952

Polish sculptor Szostalo works most notably with welded stainless steel, wood, and bronze, and has studios in both Poland and the United States. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and received his MFA in painting and sculpture in 1978. He left Poland in 1982, and was granted political asylum by the United States. He is currently based in St. Louis, MO, where he is well-known for his large-scale public sculpture commissions.
